Finder is a genius at finding things and bringing them to people. That the things may not, in fact, have been lost, nor in fact, technically belong to him is something he always felt should involve some distance and a sense of perspective - several light-years of both, preferably. However, when he and his crew find a derelict alien wreck he kicks off a sequence of events that could plunge the galaxy into war...

Elsewhere, Tim Symbles, captain of the haunted freighter Astra and its misfit crew are having some downtime on old Earth when a mysterious patron offers them the chance of a lifetime. An opportunity to find the long-lost Vanguard, the ship that made alien First-Contact and then vanished without a trace.

Unfortunately, their course takes them close to the long-ignored Liberty-Cluster, a group of stars orbiting between the Orion Spur Arm where humans live and the great unknown of the Sagitarrian Arm, and there, in the dark, something ancient and nasty is stirring with grim implications for pretty much everybody.

Join Finder, Symbles and the crew of the Astra in a new, standalone, even deadlier adventure, involving a cast of sentient bombs, a freedom crazed priesthood, organized crime bosses and First Contact with a suspiciously familiar-looking kind of alien.
